Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new ECI Lead Teacher to join their team!

The ECI Certified Lead Teacher is responsible for the general supervision and management of a class of children. The instructor is responsible for the planning and execution of all the activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Safety and Health- Gives primarily consideration to the health and safety of the children at all times.
• Responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing of lesson plans accordingly with the school curriculum. Plans activities that are developmentally appropriate to each age, thereby fostering exploration, investigation and creativity.
• Monitors and assesses each child’s growth, development, and performance; note changes; maintains appropriate records and provides reports.
• Uses appropriate languages and relates to behavior to growth and development
• Portrays positive attitudes, including sharing, concern for others feelings, interest in individuals.
• Supports the goals, objectives and philosophy of the preschool. Adheres to policies and procedures.
• Committed to the concept of teamwork, share ideas, materials, and services. Works in a professional manner with peers, supervisors and assistants. Offer guidance in positive ways. Willing to share responsibilities and assume other tasks in emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Sound verbal and writing skills. Strong organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Museum studies, or related field required.
• Insight and enthusiasm for children, families, and community
• Demonstrates the ability to work well with young children and their families
• Sound verbal and writing skills and strong organizational skills.
• CDA and/or A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or related field
• Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate
